2026 Community Art Auction at works/san José

I’m excited to share that Falling Into Place will be part of the 2026 Community Art Auction at Works/San José. This annual exhibition brings together a strong lineup of regional artists in support of one of the South Bay’s most beloved all-volunteer community art spaces. It’s always meaningful to participate in an event that not only showcases contemporary work, but also directly sustains a space dedicated to creativity and connection.

About the piece

Falling Into Place (20 x 20 in, mixed media) explores my memories of living in the largest city in South America and all the visual stimuli that populated my younger years. So much life and so many signs of the passing of time and the quickly shifts in culture that a city goes through - all imprinted on the urban landscape. The painting came together through subtle revisions — lots of type, drips, then small scratches, and marks nearly erased. The work will be on view at Works/San José (38 S. 2nd St., San José) from March 6 through April 4, with Opening Night on First Friday, March 6, and Auction Night on April 4. If you’re local, I’d love for you to experience it in person.
